On their second collaboration under the moniker "Not a Good Sign", the songwriting duties of Paolo "Ske" Botta and Francesco Zago have polarized even more, with the former focusing on the music, and the latter on the lyrics. "Not a Good Sign" is definitely Ske's baby, and not surprisingly, Francesco Zago has quit the band after this album was finished. Well, he's got a handful of other projects where he's the main composer... "From a Distance" is not as breathtaking as Ske's solo effort from 2011, which is mainly due to the lack of that RIO flavor innate to "1000 Autunni". It's much darker and heavier, and anyway, it's just splendid in its own way - definitely another milestone on the highway of "rock progressivo in Italia". Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)

Depuis l'Antiquité les philosophes ont tenté de définir la beauté... Quand même, cela aurait été beaucoup plus simple s'ils avaient eu cet album sous les yeux, ou plutôt entre les oreilles. Poesy Rider
